Maria is the queen of comforting roleplay videos, and in this soft-spoken ASMR scenario, she’s an interior paint consultant who has come to your home to guide you in selecting the best colors. In her feather-light voice, she shares a variety of color options with you and takes notes on her paper notepad with a smooth pencil. Even the sound of the paint samples that Maria has brought with her for your consultation make a delightful sound as she fans them out to display them and when they rub together, generating tingles.
What’s great about this ASMR video – and about all of Maria Gentle Whispering’s soft spoken videos – is that Maria’s so gifted and talking as if you’re there with her and keeping the conversation going, but never saying anything so jarring that it captures your attention and pulls you out of your relaxation haze. Her voice is so soothing, so musical and gentle, even the tiny little flashes of her Russian accent (which almost completely gone in her newer videos compared to those from ten years ago) are familiar and hypnotizing. Many successful ASMR artists prefer not to be on camera, but we almost always see Maria’s face, and let’s be honest: in this video, her skin, hair, makeup… all flawless. She is just so beautiful and the idea of having someone so gorgeous actually come to your house and consult with you about interior design is part of the joy of this video.
When I was a kid, I loved going to the hardware store and picking out paint sample cards, and it’s visually very satisfying to see color families grouped together. This was an inspired theme for an ASMR video, which – in combination with Maria’s ideal vocal delivery – make this a stand-out ASMR experience.
