If there’s such a thing as an OG in the world of ASMR, Maria is one of them! A true queen of the genre, Maria was one of the very first YouTube stars to start producing personal care and soft-spoken videos. She has built a small empire on her wide range of videos, and pioneered some of the video scenarios and camera angles that have now become popular among all content creators. Every once in a while, she will produce a new “low-fi” video for old times’ sake. Originally from Russia, Maria is known for her cheerful, upbeat personality, and we love when she attempts a Deep South American accent in some of her specialty role play videos.
Maria has shared the deeply personal story that brought her into the world of ASMR production: she arrived in the USA as a young woman believing she was embarking on a work-study adventure with a friend, and narrowly avoided what was likely a human trafficking enterprise. She spent her first few years in the US living and working under harsh conditions. These days, Maria is happily married (to another ASMR artist, Darryl), and a mom to a little girl. She lives on the West Coast and updates her YouTube channel with new content and sponsorships often. She carefully shares elements of her personal life with her fans, like when her mom came to visit her from Russia, while also maintaining a high degree of privacy.
